Eluding Efficiency

As hard as it was, I gave up the to-do list on the ol' yellow legal pad today.
A moment of silence please for my courageous endeavor.

I am determined to learn, or better yet, retrain myself to better use 21st century tools to increase my efficiency. Time is of the essence and I need to be in classrooms rather than completing paperwork or answering emails behind my desk. The hectic-ness of the past two weeks has pushed my limits and forced me to gain full-on mobile efficiency. After a full day off campus (again), I know I'll be yearning to complete my reports, order supplies and regain control of my desk as soon as I walk in tomorrow.
But alas. The students and the classrooms need me to be present. Present for learning. Present for collaboration. Present for encouragement. Just plain present.
My newest form of efficiency is the electronic to-do list app on my iPad. At first I was worried I wouldn't get the same satisfaction using the delete button as I do scratching out my tasks on that fabulous yellow pad. Have no fear - the delete button gives me the same feeling of joy and victory.
Tomorrow will be my first day going mobile with my to-do list as I spend the day in PLC meeting with my staff.
Wish me luck!
