I must say I drank the Kool-aide - I simply MUST have an iPad to increase my instructional leadership and efficiency as an administrator. After feverishly tracking it's path to Texas via FedEx, it finally arrived just over 2 weeks ago.
I dove in head first and began downloading apps I knew I'd use that I already had on my iPhone 4:
Dragon Dictation
Weather Channel
Flixster
iBooks
Google Earth
Texas Tribune
Goodreads
Then, I went deeper and found some apps to help increase my efficiency as an administrator as I prepared for an RtI Conference later in the week:
Evernote
Dropbox
I left town with only my iPad - no laptop. I was nervous about soley using the iPad to take notes during the conference and communicate with my staff back on campus. I was pleasantly suprised at the ease in which I was able to take notes via the touch keyboard and email the directly to my Assistant and myself. (just in case)
I'm a believer.
Since then I've began collecting apps in various content areas to showcase to my teachers and instructional specialists as additional modes of instruction for students. I promise to share once my collection becomes more extensive.
Until then, drink the Kool-aide....it's worth it!
